Weeding or dusting, can you guess which one I would rather be doing? Rain is God’s way to telling me to go inside and dust something…otherwise it doesn’t get done….

I’ve tried to figure out why weeding is okay with me but not dusting. (For those of us still learning which are weeds and which are not, Our Little Acre posted a delightful blog about it. And for the geeks among us – yes, I am one – there are even things we can learn from weeds.) Weeding demands the same do over as does dusting. Except I bend down to weed, and with dusting I have a wand to do the floors. No, that couldn’t be a reason.

I used to be very near sighted until last year when I had cataracts removed (now 20/20, thank you very much) and never saw dust; well, that’s no excuse for weeding — there are very few weeds that hide so you don’t see them. I think I might have found a reason which I will number 1.

I am a ninja procrastinator. So I actually go outside to dig, divide, and replant and end up procrastinating by weeding. Inside, there is no other task that dusting will take me away from. Add reason number 2.

No, I won’t be able to divide this big boy with a trowel. Better go get a shovel.

Peer Pressure: Everyone sees the garden. No one sees my bedroom except DH and I. (When guests are coming over, the rooms they will visit get dusted.) Add reason number 3.

Uh oh, weeding in the front yard to do…gotta run…..
